Pianist Eric Ostling has been composing, performing and teaching jazz and improvisation in the Boston area for over 25 years. He has studied directly with world-renowned educators such as Jamey Aebersold, Herb Pomeroy and Charlie Banacos, and is fluent in their teaching methods. His trio can be heard at the Acton Jazz Cafe and at the Colonial Inn in Concord, MA, and he is currently working on several recording projects in both the jazz and classical worlds. Further details are available on his website (www.ericostling.net).
In 1989, Eric saw Nirvana play in the basement of a college dorm. The band played to a total of about 60 people, and Eric was just a few feet away from Krist Novoselic. Eric says it was one of the best shows he has ever seen, although his hearing has never been quite the same!
