Jim Zaroulis's Bio

Lead Piano Instructor, North Andover Jim Zaroulis, of Tewksbury MA, offers piano instruction for all ages and for all styles. He holds a degree in Music Performance and Music Business from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and has studied under legendary jazz instructor Charlie Banacos. Over the years Jim has had the pleasure to perform with Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Houston, (comedian/singer) Joe Piscopo, A Taste of Honey, and Yvonne Elliman. Jim also serves as Music Director for the Improv Asylum in Boston's North End, where he composed and co-wrote "You're A Good Man, Scott Brown," a two-act original musical that gained national attention chronicling the "cinderella story" of the U.S. Senator. In the summer 2011, he scored all original music for a ten-week sketch comedy show, "Vanity Project," which aired on WCVB Channel 5. When not teaching and composing, Jim performs all over New England as leader of his band, "Boston City Rhythm," and works regularly as a solo pianist.

Contrary to popular belief, Jim Zaroulis is "NOT" NHL Hall of Famer Wayne Gretsky, although one time an excited owner of a North End restaurant did offer to pick up his tab, which Jim politely declined. In fact, Jim has never played hockey in his life!
