Joshua joined The Real School of Music in 2011 teaching voice, piano, guitar and ukulele. In addition to private teaching, he’s lead programs in Musical Theater, A Cappella, and Music Theory at the school. He serves as a Showcase Coordinator, helping to elevate both student and ensemble performance opportunities at Real School Burlington.
A life-long singer, Joshua’s musical experiences include an extensive choral and A Cappella background. He attended Berklee College of Music, where he developed strong techniques for Jazz, Pop, Rock, and R&B as well as self-accompaniment skills. On stage, Joshua has performed lead roles in several musicals including RENT and HAIR.
Joshua’s teaching style puts a strong emphasis on the understanding of body mechanics, musicality, and emotional expression. His strengths include improvisation skills, audition techniques, foreign language diction and sight reading techniques. Students that have worked with Joshua have landed lead roles in musicals, gained acceptance into the MMEA All State Choir, and gone on to attend Berklee College of Music.
Joshua is passionate about music and performance arts, and is available and excited to share that passion with his students.
Josh wanted his Fun Fact to simply read two words: "Hula" and "Hoops!" In fact, amongst his many other talents Josh is a world-class fire hula hooper!
