Drummer Matthew Marzola is a graduate of Keene State College, with a dual major in Music Performance and Music Technology. Matt has performed in countless music venues across the east coast with some of the finest musicians in the area, including two-time Grammy Award winning and three-time nominee blues singer and guitarist Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson in New York City.
A versatile musician, Matt’s styles span blues, jazz, classical, funk, rock/pop, RnB, hip hop, alternative, and hard rock. He has experience performing with a variety of musical ensembles, such as orchestras, concert bands, percussion ensembles, musical theatre pit bands, small jazz combos, big bands, wedding bands, Drum Corps International competitive marching bands, and Winter Guard International indoor percussion groups. In addition to percussion, Matt is a multi-instrumentalist with performing and teaching experience on the electric bass, guitar, and piano.
Matt is comfortable with students of all levels and interests, from basic pedagogy and technique to audition preparation and advanced musical vocabulary and concepts. Matt is a firm believer in versatility and strives to instill musical freedom and creativity in his students to establish artistic expression and musical success.
Aside from being a performer and educator, Matt is a music producer and audio engineer. Like his performing career, his experience as a producer has expanded his musical footprint to include genres from rock to jazz and hip hop, and everything in between.
Matt undeniably has a sweet tooth and if there is chocolate in the room, he will eat it.
