Michele’s love for music began at an early age, her mother a well-known piano teacher in the Merrimack Valley for over 40 years, her father a violinist. Both parents ignited her passion for the musical arts, and her early studies in both piano and violin secured a solid foundation that allowed Michele to receive several HS scholarships to the Philips Academy summer music sessions led by Cellist and famed New-England Conductor, William Thomas. She also toured with the Philips Academy Orchestra in Canada, was selected for All-New England Orchestra and was Concertmaster at SYMS program at UNH.
Michele began her college career playing professionally with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for two years, transferring to Wheaton College, Wheaton Illinois; she received a BA in Music. She travelled with the Wheaton Conservatory Orchestra and sang alto in the Concert Choir.
As Michele’s professional career continued, she taught violin 15 years privately in the Southern NH area; many of her students selected for the NH All-State Festival, including her own children. Michele taught at Boston Music Center for nearly four years and now continues teaching violin to both the youth and adults at the Real School of Music, in Andover.
A first violinist in the Merrimack Philharmonic Orchestra under the director of George Monseur for at least 12 years, Michele has played with the Andover Chamber Players, co-founded a successful string trio named \u201CSelah Strings,\u201D and performed in various musical theater shows at Bradford College in the orchestra pit and acting on stage. Michele seizes opportunities to further her own education, has attended workshops and master classes with Gerald Fischbach, George and Virginia Neikrug, and in the summer of 2011 at Manhattanville College, NY with world renowned violinist Aaron Rosand.
Michele’s latest passion is teaching the youth in the Yamaha Music Education System offered at the Real School of Music in Andover, MA. Her love for children, creative spark and extraordinary motivation techniques are a perfect blend of qualities to nurture young and upcoming musicians.
